Throughout this series we’ll be checking in with some of the wonderful humans that participate in stewarding their scenes & setting the tone with us this afternoon is Liz Pelly, a Brooklyn-based lifer, music journalist, organizer, professor, musician, and most recently author of Mood Machine: The Rise of Spotify & The Costs of the Perfect Playlist.

For the next hour we’ll dive into Liz’s gateways into grassroots arts + activist communities, solidarity economies, some good lore, and hopefully get into some of the the what’s why’s who’s and how’s of participating in alt-weeklies like the Boston Phoenix as well as arts spaces like Lower Allston’s Dreamhaus & Brooklyn’s The Silent Barn.
