Luminaries of Light & Space

Luminaries of Light & Space is a group installation on display at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) featuring some of the most fundamental figures in crafting the ideologies and aesthetics around the genesis of the Los Angeles based art movement, entitled Light & Space. The installation features an array of sculptural works housed within the newly opened Westgate Terminals.

Peter Krasnow: Breathing Joy and Light exhibition soundtrack

This exhibition, drawn from the Skirball Cultural Center’s extensive Krasnow collection includes a soundtrack produced and inspired by Peter Krasnow's work and personal journey.

dublab commemorates over two decades of history with decades ( in space ), an album of 10 songs by 20 artists on quadraphonic vinyl and multifaceted exploration of this theme through artwork and packaging.

Beneath Detroit

Beneath Detroit is a series and archival project that showcases previously unheard live music recordings from 1979-1992 at the Detroit Institute of Arts (DIA) as part of the Creative Music at the DIA program. The project also features photographs, posters and other materials from that era.

Channel 66 Radio

Channel 66 takes Vans “Off The Wall & On The Air”, broadcasting live weekdays from New York City, Chicago, Mexico City, and Los Angeles. Programming celebrates the unique creative culture of each city featuring DJ sets, curated radio shows, talks, workshops and performances hosted by Vans friends & family across music, art, action sports and street culture.

Dilexi Galley Retrospective

Produced in partnership with Label Curatorial, the Dilexi Gallery retrospective looks back at the work and legacy of the Bay Area gallery that defined West Coast art and beyond.

Spitfire Audio: LA Atmos

Recorded on the streets of Los Angeles by dublab's roster of artists, these unique textures capture the beating heart of the city. LA Atmos features a range of field recordings, inspired by the techniques of musique concrète warped and manipulated to create both melodic and percussive soundscapes, complete with a range of in-built custom controls.

Beirut Synthesizer Center

An informal co-op based in Lebanon for electronic music enthusiasts, amateurs, musicians, artists, and researchers to exchange expertise, discover instruments, and collaborate on music/sound making.

The Sounds of Now

The Sounds of Now is a weekly selection of new music curated by the dublab staff. Both as a Spotify playlist and Bandcamp's Buy Club, The Sounds of Now reflects on the rich and wide diversity of music out there in world waiting to be discovered.

Lee "Scratch" Perry's SCRATCH DUBS

An interactive platform that encourages sonic experimentation and aims to spark inspiration through Lee “Scratch” Perry’s singular outlook.

A Quiet Scene L.A.

A Quiet Scene: L.A. is a free film project, installation and screening initiative that asked the public to create an original short film that is an authentic reflection of LA during COVID times, using a track from Roger and Brian Eno's Luminous EP as the score. This project was created in partnership with The Music Center and the Eno brothers.

The New West Coast Sound

This EMMY award winner documentary is the story of Los Angeles’ emerging generation of community-focused black musicians. This episode of KCET's Artbound was produced in partnership with dublab and Storyform.

Ashram Tapes

A site dedicated to the Devotional Music of Alice Coltrane Turiyasangitananda featuring radio documentaries, mixes, videos and more.

Terry Riley a private performance

This performance by composer Terry Riley celebrated the closing of the Dilexi Multi Venue Retrospective.

Lookout FM

An educational FM radio project with a focus on a wide outlook: varied perspectives on the world expressed through documentaries, lectures, music, poetry, and discussion. Partnered with voices from the music community, the arts community, local archives, academic and non-academic communities.

Invisible Republic

Its mission is to bring art in all forms, with a primary focus on exhibition and publication, into as many lives as we can reach, with the goal of improving visual literacy and cultural education.

Modern Composition LA

A cross-genre radio series examining the dynamic, new music emerging from Los Angeles. Modern Composition L.A. surveys the wide-spectrum music endemic to Los Angeles—sketching a panoramic view of this ever-evolving creative climate.

QUARK

Quadraphonic Universally Accessible Resource Kit is a DAW plugin that enables musicians, filmmakers and engineers to create spatial sound work. Created in partnership with CyKiK and funded by the National Endowment For the Arts.

ASCII Art Photo Booth

ASCII Booth takes a nostalgic piece of old technology—the dot matrix printer—and recontextualizes it as an instant ASCII art selfie booth. This project is available to use at events.

Imaginary Landscape

From 1980 to 1994, Los Angeles (now Tokyo-based) composer Carl Stone hosted the radio program Imaginary Landscape on KPFK. Several episodes of the show have been selected, re-mastered, re-broadcast and archived by dublab radio.

Tonalism

Tonalism is an all night ambient happening partly inspired by La Monte Young’s Dream House and the happenings of the 50s and 60s by artists such as Terry Riley, John Cage and Yoko Ono.

Floatland VR

Dedicated to Art Laboe

This dublab produced radio tribute turns the tables to give back. We opened up the request line allowing fans to send messages, memories and music to Art. These were mixed into a radio tribute but we took it a step further and pressed the audio onto a one-of-a-kind vinyl record which we presented to Art as a token of gratitude.
