This recording was made at Intake #0019 in Lone Pine, California. Intakes are points of transition, where glacial and spring fed waterways from the Sierra Nevada are captured and diverted into pipes that merge with the Los Angeles Aqueduct. From there, the water is transported southward over 300 miles of terrain to supply the megalopolis; the lifeblood of our Cyborg Watershed. We’ll be sharing a series of field recordings from various intakes along the Los Angeles Aqueduct in the weeks to come.
