On January 8, 2022, Jason Walker, a single devoted father, was shot multiple times in the back and killed outside his Fayetteville, North Carolina home by an off-duty sheriff deputy. Walker was attempting to cross the street when the incident took place. Walker bled to death on the scene and leaves behind a son, who will have to navigate a life without the love and guidance of his father. No amount of money will replace his father’s presence, but any monetary gift will assist with the burdens that will fall upon his surviving family members. black beyond is a platform for experimental artists and activists to define alternate realities for Blackness. black beyond subverts space, allowing Black people and co-liberators to decolonize and re-indigenize social infrastructures. It interrogates understandings of Blackness outside the limitations imposed by the racist imaginary, through afro-pessimism, afro-nowism, and afro-futurism.

black beyond silences echo chambers and uplifts voices of the unheard. Allowing progressive topics which pertain to the ‘future’ to escape institutional corridors, becoming more accessible to the communities we intend to serve.
