alternate realities _black cyberculture is a mini series zooming in and out of the vast frontiers of web 0-3. Through conversation and music, the interview series features black alternative media artists who are pushing the boundaries of the metaverse to examine how the turbulent expansion of cyberspace might influence, shape and impact black creative and digital communities U/IRL.

Daughter of a Haitian father and Brazilian mother, Vitória Cribb uses the digital environment as a means to explain her investigations and reflections crossed by her subconscious while investigating social behavior in face of the development of new visual information technologies, in contemporary society.

Vitória Cribb and OLHO are artists from Brazil. They’ve collaborated together previously on audiovisual projects. OLHO signs the soundtrack of Vitória’s last two short films: “@ilusão” (2020) and “VIGILANTE_EXTENDED” (2022), on view at Denver Art Museum, Denver, Colorado.

OLHO is a collaborative sound project led by the artist Ramon SIlva, based in São Gonçalo, metropolitan region of Rio de Janeiro, Brasil. The project proposes sound topographies through experimentation and resignification, exploring and unfolding fragments such as: memory, politics and immaterialities.

OLHO mixes has been featured on Boxout FM (New Delhi, Índia);; Domina Label (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil); Mamba Negra (São, Paulo, Brazil). OLHO also signs the soundtrack of the short film “@ilusão” (2020) and “VIGILANTE_EXTENDED” (2022), both directed by Vitória Cribb;

JAZSALYN is an artist and technologist whose work begins where fiction and reality collide. Through alternative and computer-based media, she extends the practice of re-indigenization as a ritual to summon and recall ancestral intelligence.
