FROM THE VAULTS: AWESOME TAPES FROM AFRICA, 2013

Take a trip to ’66 Sunset Strip as dublab steps into the wayback machine and revisits 1960s Hollywood nightclubs like The Trip, Hullabaloo, Whisky a Go Go and Pandora’s Box.

Monkey Bar, Friday, August 2, 2:30 to 5:15 pm

Back in the mid-1990s, Kristine Maddocks and I produced a night together called Downhear Lounge at Café Dunord on Market Street in San Francisco, in the Castro District. By 1996 it had gotten the pick for “Best DJ Night” in SF Weekly. The DJ sets I do at Tiki Oasis more recently are a return to that style for me, and it’s with great pleasure that I can share them with you the last few years via dublab.com. Be sure to check out the other episodes of ’66 SUNSET STRIP on the archive under my name, Domenic Priore.
