Atlas: Body and Dance
03.19.23

Atlas is a monthly show hosted by Barbarelle in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Connecting different parts of the world with obscure tracks, Barbarelle takes us through a deep and evolving sonic landscape. From Ambient, Experimental and Jazz, to Latin, African and Middle East sounds, this imaginary musical journey evoques the -both subtle and deep- connection between worlds, existent and imaginary.
This episode is dedicated and inspired by the exploration of the body and dance. Barbarelle selects songs inspired by that, mixed with thoughts and quotes by argentinian dancer and performer Margarita Molfino, and members from ELAMOR, a dance company from Madrid. Barbarelle will also select extracts from a Trisha Brown documentary.

ELAMOR
ELAMOR wants to expand the fields of actions and the possibilities for dance and live arts taking it outside theaters but even taking it beyond the body. Until now, they have created works of a different nature, where the ephemeral and improvisation also fit. Their works have been presented at Teatros del Canal, Museo del Prado, Real Jardín Botánico, Caixaforum, SAT! Barcelona, ARCO, Condeduque; establishing different models of cooperation with these institutions, to which we can add Compañía Nacional de Danza, Círculo de Bellas Artes… ELAMOR has also provoked collaborations, meetings and dialogues with professionals and artists from very different disciplines, and it is located in the center of the creation and research nodes 112LAB Barcelona and Leopoldo Madrid.
