kim zumpfe is a Los Angeles-based artist, anti-writer, and educator, who occasionally creates sounds with field recordings, appropriated sounds, mis-use of instruments and objects, the body, and dragging things around. Kim prefers to collaborate on composing art and sound projects, and is grateful for the many co-conspirators that have emerged from the abyss, but also muddles around to make things in isolation. Sometimes, things are just madly thrown around anti-directionally, as a scheme to make sense of the chaos and dispersals. Kim has a corrosive obsession with boundless visions sound, antidisciplinarity, dissent, and other counteractive practices created around the globe, and a deep admiration for risk taking approaches and techniques that push boundaries of already erupting genres, both the extreme restraint and the screaming.
