dublab presents the Sounds of Now

Greg Belson, a highly respected, LA-based DJ on the rare soul/funk scene, hosts the monthly dublab show 45 Live. It’s about the love of music, the love of vinyl and having an excellent old time of it. Whatever you do, keep it 45.

45 Live is a collective of DJs from across Europe and the USA who have come together to indulge in and celebrate their love of the mighty 45rpm 7″ single. Hailing from all corners of popular and niche music scenes, the love of the 45 is what drew them all together. Created by UK based DJs Boca 45 and Pete Isaac, 45 Live is fast growing into a record label, festival circuit and events brand, and regular club night session.

Join me this week as I welcome another guest from outside of the crew. We’re heading Southeast where we find the enviable collection of one of the home counties favorite sons;

ANDY COBB

His knowledge of rare soul is encyclopedic & reaches back to the early days of clubs like the 100 in London. He’s spent as much of his life in Los Angeles & CA where he perfected the art of foraging for the black gold, as he has in his home town of Norwich. Many rare soul pieces have been unearthed by the fellow, including Karmello Brooks on Milestone.

Over the years, he’s dipped into modern, crossover, classic Northern & big ‘Nighter sounds. These days, he’s reachin’ for the rare soul, searchin’ out the underplayed goodness. You can find him across the UK at nights such as Dark Horses & the fabled 6T’s ‘Nighters at the 100. We’re excited to see a glimpse of what’s in his bag.

Your host Greg Belson bookends the set, firin’ up the funk canons & droppin’ some dynamite for the club!

This is 45 Live!
