Non Projections
03.12.24

Hosted by Brian Allen Simon, aka Anenon, Non Projections is a monthly series of circular audio streams devoid of linearity. A two hour cascade of songs, field recordings, voice memos, and online audio rips recontextualized within subtle shifts of time and place. Sensuality built from disparate angles, shapes, and moldings of sound.
A recent weekend of long drives dictated some focused longform listening in the car centered around two Keith Jarrett performances from the mid-1970s. Sapporo Part 1 remains, in my opinion, the definitive solo piano performance by Jarrett, and Lausanne is an absolute beauty unto itself. Philip Glass and Meredith Monk feel like appropriate bookends for Keith’s all-encompassing piano aesthetics—minimalist guides centered around one, the piano, and two, the voice, spirits from just beyond.
