Labrat DJ Danny Holloway is a master of discovering rare gems. His record collection is a magic library of the most obscure treasures ever pressed to wax. We are honored to have this cat expertly select his favorite tunes, from the rawest to the most refined, just for you on the dublab airwaves. This Holloway theme-stream is your opportunity to enjoy a non-stop rotation of Danny’s dublab sessions. He’s a man who leads an incredibly rich life so let’s dive deeper into Holloway’s history with words from the DJ himself:

“I spin at clubs, lounges, parties + on radio. From ’97 to ’05, I spent up to twelve hours a day pursuing obscure funk music, traveling to Brasil, Jamaica, Nigeria, Ghana, France, the UK, Mexico and Canada digging for records. I’m from the LBC, but professionally began in London in the ’70s: first as a staff writer on the NME music weekly, followed by a few years at Island Records. I worked with BOB MARLEY, BURNING SPEAR, TOOTS & THE MAYTALS, JIMMY CLIFF and produced the HEPTONES album “Night Food.” I moved back to L.A. after five years in London and went back with Island, eventually lasting 23 years. I produced THE PLIMSOULS, signed SUBLIME, put together 22 soundtrack albums, etc. I recently returned to music journalism and I’m the music supervisor on a Marley feature film, doing consulting work for iTunes and still producing music. I’m also still digging and share the wax by spinning out or creating mixes for DUBLAB.COM.” – Holloway
