This one’s that old old story of a group of teenage new wave and punk worshipers forming their own band in the late 70s to be around the musicians they look up to, and writing some great songs in the process. They get to play CBGB’s, Max’s, Hurrah’s, and other places with names, opening for The Ramones, Blondie, Iggy Pop, Richard Hell, and other people and bands with names. Like all old old stories, this one ends with a reissue comp.
A new compilation of their out-of-print albums and singles is out on Nacional, and can be purchased on iTunes and Amazon. This one’s really worth checking out. The song Past Tense, which can be downloaded below, really showcases how considerate The Student Teachers were with their craft despite their inexperience at the time.
