Nick Rosen is a beloved member of LA’s vibrant, organic music community. He has contributed his considerable talents to some of the most heartfelt projects that have surfaced from this city. Build an Ark and the Pan Afrikan People’s Arkestra have benefited from the vibration of his bass tones. He has also collaborated with elder geniuses including Henry Grimes, Charlie Haden and Bennie Maupin. Now, Nick has released “Into the Sky” on Porter Records. For this album he gathered a group of equally inspired players to create an ode to beautiful infinity. This song, “African Sun,” arranged by frequent sound partner Miguel Atwood-Ferguson, is a glimmer of the majestic and intimate shades of sound that can be found within Nick’s new album.
