  • 8:00pm – 10:00pm Origin People – Orphic Tracks

It is the dawn of a new day on the cusp of a new month. In this twilight, we consider what it is to be between places, between realities, even between human and non-human. Music is made by everything, and in the old myths it was the music-makers that could most easily travel between worlds, even beyond the bounds of death. In this twilight, we remember those myths and enter into musical reverie that transport us out of time and place. Each month, LA-based label Origin People invites guest producers to help program 2 hours of ambient, downtempo, fourth-world melodies, jazz, psych, and folk from beyond the horizon and spanning generations. Selected with the myth of Orpheus in mind, these are sounds made to charm the wild and move even stone to dance. This month’s broadcast brings in guest Femke @Loma_Doom. An active member of Amsterdam’s cultural scene both as contemporary arts curator, moderator and (radio) DJ, she’s best known for her monthly show Tuesday Night Prayer Meeting on Red Light Radio. A masterful selector, weaving together dark world music rhythms, moody psychedelia, light-headed folk and slick electronica, she is also part of the editorial team of Ja Ja Ja Nee Nee Nee, the online radio platform for visual arts and culture and teaches at the Radical Cut Up department of the Sandberg Instituut.
