DJ Vinyl Don started his Musical life young, playing guitar and being an enthusiast of psychedelic / soulful sounds. In 2010, at age 18 he became an Intern for Carlos Niño and assisted him during his radio show, Spaceways on KPFK 90.7FM, Los Angeles. Soon after he started buying records and learning to DJ. He was with Niño regularly in various Recording and Mix Studio Sessions, at a variety of events and salons, and almost weekly he attended Cinespia where he would soon become an integral part of their Production Team. His first DJ residency started in 2015 at Townhouse in Venice, California, where he now spins 3 nights a week. From his Monday night event Mahalo Monday, based around his extensive Love for and Collection of Hawai’ian LPs and 45s, he caught the attention of Oahu Record Label Aloha Got Soul. Don is now an A&R / Compilation and Reissue Licensing Contributor for AGS, and DJs with them all over the World, that they travel! Dublab has been a part of Don’s life, long before the first time he subbed for Niño & Miguel Atwood-Ferguson. He covered their show Theme GALAXY several times, then was offered his own slot. His on-air guests have ranged from DJ Legend Cut Chemist to Japanese Folk Giant Sachiko Kanenobu, with lots more to come!
