From flute-filled frolics to magic streams and even ancient dangers, the forests are where our dreams go to live, die, and be born again. This one hour mix takes the listener on an allegorical coming-of-age journey into the forest and back again.
Peel Dream Magazine is the nom de plume of Los Angeles-based songwriter Joe Stevens, who launched the band in New York with 2018’s critically acclaimed “Modern Meta Physic”. A mysterious, liminal tribute to the hazy end of ‘90s dream-pop, it was followed in April of 2020 by “Agitprop Alterna”, a noisier offering steeped in drone, motórik, and Tropicália. The sophomore album brought new journalistic attention to the band, and led to the November release of “Moral Panics”, a compilation mini-LP featuring unreleased recordings.
