Heart Pressure Radio is a monthly program on the First Thursday of every month, hosted by Steph Russ. Starting as a radio DJ and Events Manager since 2006, Steph keeps the floor packed with an ever-evolving array of dancefloor bangers.

Breniecia Reuben aka LuxePosh is a DJ and activist in Raleigh, NC. This set is a journey to the sparkle dungeon of Ruby Deluxe with LuxePosh playing house classics and new bops.

Ruby Deluxe is a queer bar in downtown Raleigh. The show touches on recent events in Raleigh – protests over the weekend. Ruby Deluxe was vandalized by white supremacists while looting was happening in downtown Raleigh on Saturday night. There were continued protests on Sunday and Ruby Deluxe employees set up a medic station outside the club with water and first aid for protestors. They were attacked by police with rubber bullets and forced to shut down the station.

Steph Russ gave the show over to Bren, who included some interviews with people from the club at the start of the set for the dublab community to hear voices from Southerners who are fighting the same fight as we are here in LA. Also, with it being Pride we will hear from some folks about the importance of queer spaces, specifically in the South. It starts with a recap of what’s been going on, interviews with folks talking about importance of safe space, and then ends with a celebratory dj set – similar to what you’d be able to hear LuxePosh spinning on a Friday or Saturday night in Raleigh.
