Hoseh - Version Sounds

day1

We were partners of the first edition of Movistar LiveSoundtracks. Film festival? Live music festival? LiveSoundtracks combines both: silent film excerpts with featured live music.
Music transforms our interpretation of the moving image. The Artists who were performing on stage, ripped the house down with their fresh tonal-lecture of the film selections, contributing to the atmosphere and giving the audience an emotional cue.
It was a cinematic experience.

Cosmic D’Alessandro blended sounds by Sean McCann, Brian Eno, Popol Vuh, Ingram Marshall, Stomu Yamashta or Pink Floyd among others.

Lena Willikens created a new soundtrack for Hiroshi Shimizu’s ‘Japanese Girls At The Harbor’, full of textures, field recordings and samples. Sound layers that matched perfectly with the beautiful images of this japanese classic.

The psychedelic-kraut trio Shinkiro developed long instrumentals for Chris Marker’s 1983 film ‘Sans Soleil’. A movie where its main character enumerates a list of things that make her heart beat. I’m sure that after listening to this track, it will be in yours to.

The classic trained Sara Fontán reinterpreted the music of the 1962 medium-length ‘La Jeteé’, directed by Chris Marker. The apocalyptic future in the film blends with the epic and nostalgic melodies that Sara creates with her violin (and a couple of effect pedals), reinforcing the idea that the movie exposes: the power of memory.

Jaime L. Pantaleón is probably one the most prolific musicians in Barcelona. Member of seminal bands in the spanish underground such as 12twelve, Cuzo or Lords of Bukkake, Jaime has been more focus lately in his solo compositions. For LiveSoundtracks he decided to use a couple of synthesizers to add sounds to George Romero’s ‘Night of the Living Dead’. Imagine a bunch of zombies walking inside John Carpenter’s brain.

Sunny Graves set moved from the jazzy vibes of Azimuth and Alice Coltrane to the unknown north-african lands, mixed with some psych folk lullabies.
