Joining us is Mario from Frente Cumbiero, one of the originators of Tropicanibalismo. He’ll unravel the story of how Bogotá, a metropolis teetering between the tropical and the metallic, has become the cradle of a new cumbia—a sound that distills the grit of Colombian daily life into something both haunting and hypnotic. Mario will also guide a keynote presentation during the Reina de Cumbia festival on September 23rd, where this creation myth will be explored further.
