Hear a special new mix of obscure electronic sounds from the ’90s and ’00s on our second edition of Lost & Found: Plug Research DATs.
Recently, the folks at Plug Research handed us a bag of DATs they’d had in storage for years if not decades, and asked if we wanted to do anything with it. No one knew what, if anything, should be done but since then we’ve combed through and decidedly collected the very best from 60 of the tapes in a new FTV series. The first of three new mixes drawing only from these tapes, Vol. 1 collects a broad range of homemade electronic music from one of the turn of the century’s most impactful labels.
We’re still working out whether any of this has been released, or whether the labels are even accurate. Some of the audio on them is recognizable; some is not, and profoundly so. We’ll know more soon… For now, listen as we explore a rich underground of the past.
