Version Sounds

09.28.99

Are we 100% sure this excellent turn-of-the-century electronic mix is Hoseh’s very first recording at dublab? Not exactly, but it’s definitely the earliest recording we have of him, and it’s from dublab’s second day in operation. So warp back to 1999 with us and listen to the fuzzy haired maestro as he incubates with dublab in the station’s earliest days.

Hoseh’s first show was called “Remote Sequence” and featured the same lineup of sounds and styles that we’ve come to expect from him on “Version Sounds”: Reggae and dub, downtempo and experimental electronic music from LA and around the world, plus spacey indie rock like Stereolab. And whatever else fits, really. Enjoy below.

Tracklist:

Scientist & Roots Radics – Plague of Zombies
Adrian Sherwood
Joe Gibbs and The Professionals – Third World
Stereolab – Blue Milk
Pulsinger – Strong Desire
Dntel – Goodnight
Capital K – People
Saint Etienne – Your Head My Voice (Aphex Twin Mix)
VL Scan
Nobody – Green Means
Thomas Fehlman – Thrashaestheticversion
Sons of the Son – Angkor Thom
