April’s edition of Something Going On is kicked off with a mix from Glo Phase. This 88-93bpm set was recorded live and consisted of alternating between jamming on less polished ideas with the Elektron Analog Rytm (also sequencing Behringer Model D) and more complete tracks on the SP-404 MKII. We then dive into a mix from Eddymac titled ‘Picking Weeds’ that dates back 8 years to Soundcloud’s heyday! Rounding out the show we take a look into Dil Withers’ classic beat tape ‘Studies’, released on Grand Garden in 2016. The album only exists on cassette and LP but we highlight it digitally tonight.
GLO PHASE:
Dreamy dance and/or chill music. Glo Phase is the solo project of professional composer and multi-instrumentalist, Joseph Rusnak. Although Glo Phase is a relatively new project, Rusnak has been producing, performing, and touring in multiple bands and projects since the early 2000s. Under Glo Phase he has released a steady stream of mixed genre electronic music emphasizing a balance between dreamy and dancey soundscapes (100% Silk, Stasis Recordings, Whiskey Pickle). In addition to his releases, Rusnak regularly performs live sets with a variety of analog gear, spanning distinctive moods and colors.

Dil Withers’ ‘Studies’ exists only on cassette and LP but can be streamed on Grand Garden’s bandcamp.
