dublab's 25th Anniversary: Live from Zebulon

On Saturday, September 28, 2024, dublab celebrated its quarter centennial at Zebulon. Taking over the beloved Frogtown venue with 25 DJs, a host of live performances, and engaging visual artwork by Alex Pelly, offering a multistage event that showcased the station’s homegrown talent. dublab’s annual anniversary parties also serve as crucial fundraising opportunities, and this year was no exception. Masha Mar is a DJ, producer, and promoter known to move dancefloors into blissful journeys, across moods and grooves. She’s co-founded LA parties Take it Outside and Dig Deeper and released music on SOS Records, Femme House, Dusk Recordings, and Night Prism.

Tottie is a Los Angeles based selector and passionate digger, with a palette that weaves between Balearic house, Middle Eastern disco and leftfield techno. She originally hails from the UK but spent her formative years living in Barcelona. The Catalan capital immersed her into the underground dance music culture and introduced her to online radio for the first time. Now firmly planted in Los Angeles, she is the director of events and special projects at dublab and curates music, art and cultural programming that reflects the diverse landscape of the city as well as her own background.

Juliet Mendoza was born in the colorful city of Angels. We can say her musical background begins before she was even born. Having a mother with a professional disco dancing passion, of course, one can only imagine that Juliet would genetically inherit the love of music. Deep into the rabbit hole of Djing, Juliet’s love for the music takes us back to the mid-’90s, house scene. Becoming a regular in LA house clubs, such as the Arena and Carnival. By her early 20’s she becomes a well-known House Dancer in the Los Angeles underground house scene, attending just about every underground house music party in L.A. She is one of the Core Members of the organization “Open House” which gives the dance community in Los Angeles creative shelter where the knowledge of house dance, music philosophy, and club culture is shared in a dance class environment.
