On today’s edition of the show, Darone invites Deon Jamar. Deon is a Detroit native whose roots stem from the crates of family. Growing up hearing many different styles of music in the household is the inspiration behind his range of selection. Inspired by everything from jazz, funk, & soul, to more modern black dance music forms like hip-hop/r&b, house, techno, & broken beat.

His career in Detroit began as resident DJ & organizer for the monthly hip-hop showcase “Bluecollar Gentleman”.
Around the same time, working with Theo Parrish to promote the Music Gallery party series & most recently to co-curate Theo’s ‘Detroit Forward’ compilation on K7 Records.

Aside from playing gigs, Deon also enjoys programming events of his own such as the “Healin’ Session” party series and the music and art exhibition, “Black Music.”
