Jimmy Tamborello - Dying Songs

NYC filmmaker and composer Dan Arnés presents Bright as Fire in the Night, a musically eclectic and evocative cinematic journey exploring the themes of heat and summer, set against the backdrop of an apocalyptic NYC heatwave. Drawing inspiration from, and incorporating elements of, “The Midnight Sun,” a classic Twilight Zone episode that delves into the psychological collapse of two NYC apartment dwellers as Earth veers closer to the sun, this haunting mix features the ironic juxtaposition of leftfield pop, experimental, soul, latin, psychedelic rock, sunshine pop, choral music, TV soundtracks, and more. Bleakly tense yet punctuated with dark humor, even the sunshiniest of pop on this atmospheric mix is permeated by an eerie undercurrent of doom, culminating in an out-of-this-world conclusion.

“One month ago, the Earth suddenly changed its elliptical orbit and in doing so began to follow a path which gradually, moment by moment, took it closer to the Sun. The place is New York City and this is the eve of the end. The hottest day in history…” – The Twilight Zone, “The Midnight Sun.”
