DJJJS - Void Filler

Contact Wave enthusiastically celebrates the best experimental, avant-garde, psychedelic, and off-the-grid music crafted in L.A. and beyond.

This week’s episode features a special in-studio performance by guitarist, composer, and bandleader Jessica Acklerley. Last October, Ackerley joined the show to talk about their music, which balances a highly refined compositional structure, free improvisation, the influence of Black American Music, and noise soundscapes derived from experimental rock. We were so glad Ackerley could join us at the dublab studio in Los Angeles for this special live performance.
Ackerley’s two newest releases are the solo ambient work Wave: Volume I and the group improvisational work by her ensemble MAW, Live Recordings.
