We discuss the many ways that Lavender’s ethos of listening awareness finds expression, including her great catalog of recordings, her sound healing and educational practices, and her 2020 book Transcendent Waves: How Listening Shapes Our Creative Lives, a colorful and inquisitive exploration of the world of sound. We also discuss her brand-new album Rupture in the Eternal Realm, a reinterpretation and compendium to her experience studying a Tibetan Buddhist meditation practice centered in detachment from one’s body.
