SADUBAS is the collaborative duo of classical tabla artist Robin Sukhadia (tablapusher) and electronic producer Ameet Mehta (PartTimeChiller). The two artists grew up together in North Carolina playing Commodore 64 video games, consuming international films of the 70s and 80s, and attending various Indian community functions. They began experimenting with long form rhythmic sequences after relocating to San Francisco in 1999 and acquiring tabla, an MPC 2000, two Technics 1200, and a microphone. Robin and Ameet use each other as mediums to summon a hybrid of north Indian classical music, electronic music, Bollywood psychedelia, and cinematic soundscapes that construct the Golden Bollywood Disco House sound of SADUBAS: The Sadhus of Bass.
