BENNY WILDER – 1

Director Benny Wilder shared with us a film he made based on the traditional stop-motion style. We immediately thought we had to share with you. So here it is…
STOLEN MOMENTS
Filmmaker Dan Canyon started this great project called Stolen Moments, he films and interviews artists that he finds inspiring talking about the work and creative process. Below are two short films he did, one with Dam Funk, and one with dublab’s Carlos Nino and his project Build an Ark.

EDAN – ECHO PARTY (SNIPPET)
A brain is a fragile, pulsating tool that must be treated with the utmost care. We recommend getting your head shredded up in the right way through the efforts of highly skilled neuron crunchers. In this case Edan is a man fit for the task. His new album Echo Party is a beast of a blast through the past of hip hop party jams and the future of fuzzed-out mind flight. To accompany this psychedelic excursion Tom Fitzgerald aka Pimpadelic Wonderland, Cut Chemist’s visual main man and one of the curators of our favorite LA weirdo theater Cinefamily, made a wonderfully wild film cut up that equals the music in every measure. Please dig in and enjoy, because this mind-warp experience is in masterful hands. – frosty
Dan Deacon – Woof Woof
Showbeast have made an incredible video for Dan Deacon’s jam “Woof Woof.” This extended, surreal story is a world chock full of fun: an oblivious mailman, dead bird cat, miraculous grow powder, limited breathing calendar, hell fire, a mustachioed top hat lady and a dog band that will woof woof woof woof your mind into the melted kind. Check it out!!!! – frosty
PSYCHIC TV – “Good Vibrations” & “Are You X’spear Incense?”
I’m a late bloomer in getting hipped to the strange and beautiful world of Psychic TV. I have dublab’s Ale to thank for the musical gift. A few years ago he passed me the Godstar 7″ and totally blew my mind (check out Ale’s posting of the Godstar video here). Ever since, I’ve been devouring each and every bit of tasty madness that Genesis P-Orridge and posse have dished up. I’m 100% into the value of creative derivation and totally appreciate when bands inject great influences into their work. Psychic TV did it big time as you can plainly see in the songs they chose to cover in these videos. Now current bands have heavily borrowed from the aesthetic of Psychic TV and I see nothing wrong with this expanding plenitude of awesomeness. – frosty

TIM BUCKLEY / COCTEAU TWINS, SONG TO THE SIREN
Here is the original version of this beautiful song, played by Tim Buckley at the end of the Monkees TV show. Below that one, you can hear the version that Cocteau twins did live. Personally I prefer the CT one. But both can give you the chills.
