The Society for the Activation of Social Space through Art and Sound (SASSAS) is celebrating the 10 year anniversary of the sound. concert series this month, and to support it and join the celebration DUBLAB is doing a month long Themestream featuring a selection of the live performances presented as a part of sound.
The Society for the Activation of Social Space through Art and Sound (SASSAS) is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization that serves as a catalyst for the creation, presentation, and recognition of experimental art and sound practices in the Greater Los Angeles area.
Here you will find live performances by: Aero Mic’d, Joe Baiza, Bobb Bruno, Harold Budd, Rudiger Carl, Jessica Catron, Nels Cline and Gregg Bendian, Dan Clucas, Thomas Dimuzo, Fred Frith, Tom Grimley, Petra Haden, Joseph Jarman, Kitten Sparkles, Sukho Lee, Alicia Mangan, Ikue Mori, Troy Oftedal, Pauline Oliveros, Zeena Parkins, Polar Goldie Cats, David Rothbaum, Jessica Rylan, Gabe Serbian, Jackie Stewart, David Scott Stone, Dwight Trible, Unrecognizable Now, Jozef van Wissem, Kira Vollman, Shannon Walter, David Watson, Rich West, White Rainbow, and many more.

– the SASSAS 10th Anniversary Concert utilizes sites in 8 Los Angeles neighborhoods located along an east/west corridor and features more than 50 musicians drawn from the 10 year history of sound. for a day of concerts, presented free of charge! Concerts are from 11am – 10pm starting at the Sylvan Amphitheater in Eagle Rock and concluding at Beyond Baroque in Venice, with stops on Chung King Road in Chinatown, Amoeba Music in Hollywood and the Schindler House in West Hollywood among others!
