Rohaina is based in Los Angeles, by way of Oakland and the Chicago area. By day she works for an online media company, helps produce a podcast, and curate a women’s creative collective in Oakland. Growing up, Sunday’s consisted of 70’s and 80’s disco music, weaved in and out with Bollywood and Arabic music from the 90’s.
Azaadi is an ode to migration and movement, past and present, a way to understand the nuanced nature of today’s tales. Each show aims to groove you into untold stories from various diasporas, through a mix of hip-hop, house, and disco. It’s an amalgamation of cultures, brought together through beats and bounces that weave in and out of each other, leaving you dancing across time and space.
