PEAKING LIGHTS – CREATURES OF DAY CREATURES AT NIGHT & RAZEN – RICHEL
Our friends at KRAAK graciously provided us with two terrific audio gems to help you say goodbye to Summer.

The first track comes from Peaking Lights, the duo of Indra Dunis (ex-Numbers) and Aaron Coynes. ‘Creatures of day creatures at night’ is pure summer pop chock full of fuzzy calypso riffing. Dunis’ vocal romanticism sounds sweet as a Brian Wilson song. Sc-fi soft pop! You can find the track on Kraak’s “Lune Atroce / Soleil Amer” 4-way split 7″.

Second we have a sobering introduction to Fall, brought you by Razen, a duo made up of Brecht Ameel (santoor, bouzouki, keys) and Bart Reekmans (percussion, brass) in which ethnic music and improvisation are the central concepts. When other musicians join in, the result is a Lynchian ecstasy in which spiritual sixties tradition, contemporary psychedelic fusion and historical ‘source music’ are the different approaches that subsequently merge into a ritualistic dream story. Watch the leaves start to fall as you listen to ‘Richel’.
