    UK GRIME Acts Treble Clef, Logan, MicOfCourse Kick off the new year by visiting Los Angeles bringing the Uk Sound across the Atlantic and pass through the dublab studios to give a the US airwaves a taste of the UK grime culture which has been gripping the world in the last couple of years. 1 hour set with Treble Clef (Producer/Dj) selecting some of the hottest and newest Grime Instrumentals with Logan & Micofcourse on microphone duties bringing Energy & Bars which has seen them be recognized as the emerging New generation Grime Leaders ones to watch.

  • 10:00am – 12:00pm Ale w/guest Lola Luc – Elevation Through Sound

    Alejandro Cohen is a musician and composer from Los Angeles, California. He has written and performed music as part of numerous projects and groups, including Languis, Pharaohs and Psychic Powers. He is also a composer of music for TV shows, documentaries and educational materials. Ale works at dublab as part of the full time office team along with frosty and Lavenders.

    This episode will feature special guest Lola Luc

    Lola Luc is a Berlin based DJ. Over the last couple of years this girl has shed the expensive snake skin of a mere club-kid and has developed taste and skill behind the decks of the most relevant Berlin hot spots, radio waves and beyond. From 2015 till now she also has been hosting her own show “Songs of Distant Earth” at Berlin Community Radio blending a mix of House, Techno, Disco, Funk, Soul with Afrobeat, Reggae and Dub.

    One Reporter’s Opinion—named after Chris Ziegler’s L.A. RECORD review column—is part lesson in lost history and part celebration of the new and the now in the city of Los Angeles, California, where everything happened at least once and anything could happen tomorrow. From demos to dead stock to new releases and the never-released—all genres and generations of musicians from the greater L.A. area are welcome.

    Chris Ziegler is the co-founder and editor-in-chief of L.A. RECORD, Los Angeles’ only dedicated music magazine. L.A. RECORD was founded in 2005 on Ziegler’s bedroom floor and has grown into a colossal bimonthly print magazine dedicated to documenting music—in any form—across the greater Los Angeles area. Each issue is a smash-cut collection of famously in-depth interviews with music-makers of all kinds — from Kendrick Lamar to Cherry Glazerr, or Flying Lotus to Foxygen to Les McCann. It is put together by a team of local writers, illustrators, and photographers, with guest contributors like Ty Segall, Kutmah, Tim Presley of White Fence and Nick Waterhouse. Ziegler is also a contributor to MOJO magazine and the local OC and LA Weeklys. He DJs regularly at events around Los Angeles.

    The monthly dublab program, One Reporter’s Opinion—named after Chris Ziegler’s L.A.   • 4:00pm – 6:00pm Tom Chasteen and Tippa Lee – Meditation of Sound


    This show brings you the word sound of power of the many manifestations of Reggae music from the 1960s up to the heaviest bass vibrations of today and tomorrow.

    Tom Chasteen has been a fixture in the LA underground music scene for over two decades. He started the seminal electronic dance music label Exist Dance in 1991 and produced over 50 releases in that genre. Since 2000 he has been running and DJIng at the Dub Club, which has become known worldwide as a respected venue for Reggae music. He has worked with many legendary Jamaican musicians both in the studio and promoting live shows.In 2010 he produced a documentary film about the Dub Club entitled “Return Of The Rub A Dub Style”. In 2013 he released 3 albums on the Stones Throw label, 2 Dub albums and a double LP “Foundation Come Again” featuring 20 veteran performers from the classic 70s era of Reggae. His work has been written up in The Wire, Rolling Stone, LA Times, and many other places.

    Daniel T, one half of the production duo Cosmic Kids, is a Los Angeles based producer and DJ. Daniel runs Distant Works Records along side Cooper Saver. He is an active contributor to the labels Young Adults and Chit Chat Records. With Cosmic Kids he has released original productions and remixes for Let’s Play House, Throne of Blood, and DFA Records. He hosts Crosseyed and Painless which is a biweekly radio show hosted by Daniel T. Every other week, Daniel features guest DJ sets from fellow, local record collectors.

    Minty Boi is a promoter and DJ based in Los Angeles, New York, and Providence. Through a broad lens he presents a series of music and art shows coast to coast. Minty Boi is dedicated to presenting independent, new artists across all genres and all languages.

    Minty Boi’s Eternity is a weekly exploration of the universality of music, in all genres and all languages. Each show is a new assortment of music by artists from around the world, super special guests, and fun event promotions.
