The man with his iconic glasses – music visionary Kenneth Bager is a pioneer, music lover, label owner, producer, a&r, remixer, record hunter and collector. Through his legendary Club Coma and subsequent stints with Danish National Radio, he has been on air for 4 decades promoting dance music. These days he also does a weekly radio show for DUBLAB, as well as running his own Station Music For Dreams Radio and the label Music for Dreams plus he runs the Festival called Apple Flower Festival together with Claus Meyer

Chris Kissel w/guest White Boy Scream – Contact Wave
Hosted by Los Angeles-based DJ and journalist Chris Kissel, the monthly dublab program Contact Wave enthusiastically celebrates the best experimental, avant-garde, psychedelic, and off-the-grid music crafted in L.A. and beyond.
This week’s episode features a guest performance by White Boy Scream — Los Angeles-based experimental vocalist, sound artist, and teacher Micaela Tobin. Specializing in contemporary opera, Micaela dissects her operatic singing style through the use of extended vocal techniques and electronics, in an attempt to undermine the patriarchal constructs embedded in her classical training. She has performed extensively throughout the western United States, most notably as a guest with hip-hop experimentalists and Sub Pop signees clipping. during their tour in support of The Flaming Lips. Micaela’s work, which most recently includes a full length release called Remains on Crystalline Morphologies (Gabie Strong), has been compared to Diamanda Galás. Micaela is currently on faculty in the VoiceArts department at the California Institute for the Arts and teaches privately out of her home in Pasadena.

Arshia Haq – Radio Discostan
Arshia Haq is a filmmaker, writer, and DJ based in Los Angeles. She is the Founder of Discostan, a collective dedicated to media from Beirut to Bangkok via Bombay. Discostan has been featured in KCET’s Artbound, Good Magazine, and LA Weekly.
On her monthly show, Radio Discostan presents musical narratives from Eastern Europe, North Africa, the Middle East, South and Southeast Asia and eastward to the edge of the earth. Narrative threads include migration, celebration, warfare, nostalgia, homeland, borders, often within realms of Islamic influence, through the lenses of timeless traditional forms, the kaleidoscopic reinventions of pop culture, and everything in between and beyond. Most simply, Discostan is a love letter to the Dis-Orient.

Alex Ho – Asking For A Friend
Alex Ho is an LA-based DJ / event producer. He runs the party series Moony Habits and frequently DJ’s across the city. He’ll be hosting the the ‘Asking For a Friend’ dublab show which will occasionally feature local and international record collectors. Expect music ranging from balearic, pop, wave to ambient and jazz. Dig in!

Richard Chartier – Between Two Points
Richard Chartier is considered one of the key figures in the field of sound art described as “microsound” and Neo-Modernist. Chartier’s minimalist digital work explores the inter-relationships between the spatial nature of sound, silence, focus, perception and the act of listening itself.
Chartier’s critically acclaimed sound works have been published since 1998 on a variety of labels internationally. He has collaborated with noted composer William Basinski, sound artists ELEH, CoH, Robert Curgenven, Taylor Deupree, AGF, Yann Novak, and German electronic music pioneer Asmus Tietchens. In installation form he has created works with multimedia artists Evelina Domnitch and Dmitry Gelfand, visual artist Linn Meyers, and projected light artist Anthony McCall. Under his Pinkcourtesyphone alias he has collaborated with the likes of Cosey Fanni Tutti, Kid Congo Powers, harpist Gwyneth Wentink, AGF, William Basinski, and Evelina Domnitch.
Chartier’s sound works/installations have been presented in galleries and museums internationally and he has performed his work live across Europe, Japan, Australia, and North America. In 2000 he formed the recording label LINE exploring the aesthetics of contemporary and digital minimalism.
Chartier (often as Pinkcourtesyphone) began DJing in 1991. He currently hosts Procedure, a twice monthly happy hour audio parade (with Ale Cohen, Maria Minerva, and special guests) at Melody Lounge In Chinatown, Los Angeles since March 2015.
