  • 10:00am – 12:00pm Frosty w/guest Todd Edwards – Celsius Drop

Each week dublab co-founder Frosty guides you through an exploration of the vast Future Roots music spectrum on Celsius Drop. Tune-in to reach those outer realms.

This time around, Frosty welcomes Todd Edwards onto the program to give us a deep glide into his endless world of sound. We already know this man is a musical genius with a heart of gold so let’s see what Wikipedia has to say…

Todd Edwards is an American house and garage record producer and Grammy winner from Bloomfield, New Jersey. He currently resides in Los Angeles.

Edwards’ music has been recognized as a major influence on the nascent UK garage genre in the United Kingdom in the mid 1990s. He became known for his intensive sampling and remixing technique that involves “cross-hatching brief snatches of vocals into a melodic-percussive honeycomb of blissful hiccups,” as described by critic Simon Reynolds. Used both on his solo albums and on his remixes for other artists, this complex vocal sampling technique in some cases renders the original track almost unrecognizable.

With remixes numbering in the hundreds, some of the artists Edwards has remixed include Wildchild, St. Germain, Benjamin Diamond, Justice, Klaxons and Dimitri From Paris. Edwards co-produced and performed vocals on the Daft Punk song “Face to Face” from the album Discovery. Edwards worked again with Daft Punk, co-writing, co-producing and contributing vocals to the song, “Fragments of Time” from their 2013 album Random Access Memories, for which he won a Grammy.

Yup, it’s true, so please join us as Todd “The God” Edwards brings his magic back to the dublab airwaves!

  • 12:00pm – 2:00pm Jimmy Tamborello – Dying Songs

“Dying Songs” focuses on melancholic electronic music but isn’t limited to that. Sometimes it gets dark, sometimes I try to mix techno awkwardly, sometimes i get nostalgic… I like stuff that’s dreamy, ghostly, pretty and sad. I’ll try out new productions of my own, as well. I’m keeping it pretty open and we’ll see how it evolves.” – Jimmy

  • 2:00pm – 4:00pm Dustin Wong – Why Did./? Yes, why did, why did?/.

Welcome to a brand new monthly program hosted by Dustin Wong:
The show will invite artists and musicians in for an improvisation session. This maybe with the host or it could be two random strangers with the host mediating the process. The first 5-15 minutes being, a discussion on how to approach the session. Do we discuss what key we want to start with, a theme, or just go all out free? After a 30 minute session, a post-discussion about the experience. Did it turn out the way we discussed in the beginning, what is the difference of measure from intention to execution, and what interesting interactions occurred and what kind of thoughts or feelings went through the players. The show will also be accompanied with four 15 minute mixes of music.

  • 8:00pm – 10:00pm Induce – Dancing, Thinking, Loving, Listening

It all started with these words from Induce, “Bout to get on and play some weird stuff @dublab till about 4. Tune in!” Then the lightning split the sky and all the sounds from the dublab studio on this oblate spheroid called Planet Earth were pulled into the cosmos in a single beam of high lumen energy. From this newly elevated point they hit the universal prism of memory reflection and were split throughout the wide universe. We’re happy you got your radio attuned to Induce’s transmission. Whether you’re hearing this 2 billion years from now or simply right now we know you’ll enjoy the “weird stuff” being offered.
