Jimmy Tamborello – Dying Songs
“Dying Songs” focuses on melancholic electronic music but isn’t limited to that. Sometimes it gets dark, sometimes I try to mix techno awkwardly, sometimes i get nostalgic… I like stuff that’s dreamy, ghostly, pretty and sad. I’ll try out new productions of my own, as well. I’m keeping it pretty open and we’ll see how it evolves.” – Jimmy
2:00pm – 4:00pm
Manuel Romero – guest session
New Jersey-born, New York-based music producer and DJ. The Adapa got his start in New York digging in the crates of A1 Records where he would look for gems to spin on his college radio show. Soon he would find himself filling up empty slots at The Lot Radio and playing underground rap shows. He would later start collaborating with Far Rockaway rapper Devin Lee where he produced a track called 2 Step Papi which got featured on HotNewHipHop. After taking a small hiatus from the world The Adapa returned as a resident DJ at London’s 199 Radio where he would start doing a very experimental dance show called “The Full Circle” which would feature an eclectic mix of records accompanied by live synth playing and space-echo vocals. The show features a wide selection of music that can range from disco to free-jazz. The Adapa is now in Los Angeles after releasing a new track called “ When Sharks Attack” and is teasing a project called “In the Days of the Future Past”.
4:00pm – 6:00pm
United Ghosts – guest session
Los Angeles band United Ghosts blends a seemingly dizzying collection of influences (dreampop, psychedelia, electro, krautrock) into a cohesive, hypnotic sound that celebrates its influences, while keeping one eye firmly set towards the future.
Initially conceived as a loose garage-studio project by founding members and co-vocalists Sha Sabi and Axel Ray, United Ghosts released 2013’s self-titled debut album and its follow up, Dear Electric Sun EP to much public and critical acclaim, picking up extensive radio play by such indie-rock mavens as Steve Lamacq, Lauren Laverne (BBC6 UK), Nic Harcourt (KCSN), Mark Sovel (KLOS), Jamie Kennedy (XFM London) and many others.
The band fared especially well in the UK, where they were picked up by Cargo Records for distribution and made many devoted fans through their hypnotic live shows.
After three successful UK/European tours, a slew of US dates (including CMJ and SXSW) and an LA residency, United Ghosts went back into the studio to work on new music, this time co-produced by Axel Ray and Mark Rains (Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Death Valley Girls).
A preview of the new record caught the attention of Cleopatra Records execs Benny Cardenas and Matt Green and United Ghosts signed to Cleopatra Records in November 2017.
The result is the new full-length album Saturn Days, which travels even farther down into the electronic pulses of synths and beats while retaining the dreamy, psychedelic signature of United Ghosts’ twin vocals and widescreen guitars. Release date is August 24, 2018 and after another successful SXSW in 2018 (with one show in support of Todd Rundgren) United Ghosts will be hitting the road again this summer.

Induce – Dancing, Thinking, Loving, Listening
It all started with these words from Induce, “Bout to get on and play some weird stuff @dublab till about 4. Tune in!” Then the lightning split the sky and all the sounds from the dublab studio on this oblate spheroid called Planet Earth were pulled into the cosmos in a single beam of high lumen energy. From this newly elevated point they hit the universal prism of memory reflection and were split throughout the wide universe. We’re happy you got your radio attuned to Induce’s transmission. Whether you’re hearing this 2 billion years from now or simply right now we know you’ll enjoy the “weird stuff” being offered.
