Cole Medina will be bringing his classic sound to the dublab airwaves every Friday of February 9am to 10am as part of a month-long residence.
Cole Medina is internationally recognized for his entrancing dance music productions. Born and raised in Downey, CA, he played instruments and wrote music throughout his childhood. A background in jazz won him competitions, awards, and scholarships. In high school he was presented withthe Bronze Viking Award, the school district’s highest award of achievement in art. His productions are heard on dance floors all over the globe in the most respected clubs and online broadcasts. Cole’s music is a sure favorite amongst noted underground dj’s such as Dj Harvey, Prins Thomas, Todd Terje, Mark E, Juan Maclean, RubNTug, Alex From Tokyo, Foolish Felix, Ooft, and Rob Mellow, just to name a few heavy hitters. Owner of House Arrest, this unique label offers past and present releases still heavy in demand. Fromthe instant house-classic “Buffalo Bill” to a more recent sold out Bee Gees remix on American Standard, Cole continues to deliver a sultry-edgy beat. Cat 500 (AKA Aunt Mitzy) was born Mathilda Constance Thorogood, is a world-class humanitarian and a member of the power elite. Trailblazing the way for female superpowers since 1942 with her long list of successful, multi-million dollar companies founded. These include; Global Box Co. and all of its subsidiaries (i.e., Plexi-Perfect Box Dist. INC., Worldwide United Box Limited, Box Technology International, Echelon Quad, Indo-American manufacturing nano infrastructure civilian establishment, etc.).
On her monthly dublab program, Cat 500 (AKA Aunt Misty) occupies an intimate corner of the vast universe. Her transmission is a string of interstellar secrets whispered in your ear. This space-chatter materializes when a satellite crosses wires with a synthesizer. Like the tree falling in an empty forest, these sounds are usually silent as dust in a void but thanks to Aunt Mitzy’s diligent energy you can hear the buzz and crackle of the great beyond. Morpho hosts Graph Paper which is a monthly diagram of echoes and sounds, culled from ancient texts and modern contraptions. Through systematic observation, music phenomena will be carefully measured and categorized. Expect a swath of symphonic divisions ranging from Séance Core to Forrest Bop. As the needle swings so our ears will ride the soundscapes of song. The mission is simple; untangling the secret knots of the universe and the human heart.
