Tune-in each week for experimental vibrations!
10:00am – 12:00pm
Bianca Lexis – Happy Hour
Bianca Lexis is an LA-based vinyl DJ. She currently holds a residency at Tenants of the Trees in Silverlake every Saturday night and regularly guest DJs around Los Angeles. Growing up listening to both her dad’s new wave records and LA’s old school R&B station Hot92.3, she naturally grew an appreciation for soulful chords, ’80s production and synth sounds. She got her start in radio at KXSC before seriously collecting records and landing an internship at dublab. On Happy Hour, she shares her favorite feel good grooves – cheap or expensive, well-known or obscure, as long as it’s rich in soul and moves you physically and emotionally. Expect to hear some boogie, disco, and ’80s funk, but anything goes.
12:00pm – 2:00pm
Andres Renteria – Shining Spirit Sound
Andres Renteria is a percussionist/drummer from Los Angeles. He has been playing and recording with Mia Doi Todd since 2005 and has toured with a wide range of artists including Domingo Siete, Jose Gonzalez, Flying Lotus, and Build An Ark. He is also a member of Blank Blue and Triangle Method and will be releasing a solo album under the name Eyas in 2012. He also has a dj night called Staycation. It’s fun.
2:00pm – 4:00pm
Butchy Fuego – Hollergram
4th Tuesdays 2-4pm PST / Butchy Fuego “Hollertron”
Listen with caution. It’s likely that the space-time fabric will be altered on a monthly basis with each dissemination. Massive vibrations likely to ramify the cosmic flux will be in operation. Also be prepared for trail reports, weather conditions, interviews with notable rangers and aural skullduggery. – Butchy Fuego
4:00pm – 6:00pm
Hoseh – Version Sounds
“Version Sounds is my interpretation of radio communication, my version. At its roots, the show credits reggae dub for adding so much to the music we listen to today. From there the branches continue to sprout via a myriad of genres and time spans. Colombian cumbias meet Germanic techno dub meets British twee pop. Stereolab and Sun Ra lounge around as Stars of the Lid jam with Prince Jammy. You never know what to expect but you are guaranteed that the now sounds of 2013 will have a toast with the happening sonics of 1968 and beyond!” love, Hoseh
6:00pm – 8:00pm
Low Limit – Thank You
Low Limit’s THANK YOU show focuses primarily on the more left-leaning mutations of house and techno, but as often is the case, there are no set rules at hand here. Expect surprises.
8:00pm – 10:00pm
Echo Park Film Center – Optical Track
