  • 2:00pm – 3:00pm Greg Belson w/guest DJ AEON SEVEN – The Divine Chord Gospel Show

    wrongtom
A series of monthly radio shows hosted by Greg Belson on dublab.com, dedicated to gospel soul, funk and spirituals from the 1960’s thru to the 1980’s.

The Divine Chord Gospel Show branches out into gospel influenced cuts and artists that crossed over to performing secular cuts too; so plenty of rarities all played from original vinyl, either on 45 or LP format. The Divine Chord Gospel Show Facebook Page

    AEON SEVEN

Aeon is a vet of the game….a selector and stylist DJ that juggles the rhythms to maximum audio effect. Check out yet another seemlessly blended set of the good stuff, from the crate to the table to you. It’s always a fresh recipe, when Mr Seven takes control.

Your host Greg Belson will be selecting beats, pieces, rarities, forgotten funk, serious soul and anything else he can grab from his well stacked crates. It’s a celebration of the 7″ single like no other, so join us please!

We broadcast on Dublab.com via the internet & 99.1FM KLDB on your Cali radio dial, from 8pm US PDT (4am UK time), perfect to tune in live for the pre-club sessions in California, and the back-to-mine party in the UK!

  • 3:00pm – 4:00pm Greg Belson – Time Less

    timeless
An infrequent broadcast hosted by DJ Greg Belson, focusing on the beatscapes of 90’s club culture. Tracks that were forward thinking in production techniques, ground breaking in textures and time signatures but yet often forgotten. With the 2000’s came the advent of more powerful computers, easier accessibility to software and an ease to create at home; beatmakers of the 90’s had to either adapt or fall by the wayside. We’ll be unearthing some of the cream of the crop, that still relied on outboard gear, physical mixing desks and insane wired up patch bays to get the job done. With it came a certain warmth, particularly when it was arguably the last bastion of dance music to promote, press and present their music solely onto vinyl….it’s within these grooves that we’d like to celebrate with you a time in beat making. Join us as we spin the original format of what truly was a ‘Time-Less’ age.

  • 4:00pm – 6:00pm Boss Harmony – Punky Reggae Party

    PRP Dublab (1)

Punky Reggae Party broadcasts every 2nd & 4th Wednesday of the month and features musical selections from the punk & post-punk period between 1977 – 1982 (although other era’s, sub-genres & pre-punk influences are often represented), as well as Jamaican music from the ska, rock steady & roots reggae era’s, respectively. Many of the British post-punk bands were influenced by reggae music & it’s recording techniques, and that experimental spark is the nucleus of the show.

Punky Reggae Party started when David Orlando (Boss Harmony) and Jason Mason of Dub Club, teamed up with Michael Stock And Ben White of Part Time Punks in 2006. Existing & developing at various venues in Downtown, Los Angeles, it ultimately found a home at La Cita Bar (now promoted & DJ’d solely by David & Michael). Many bands (both punk and reggae) have performed throughout the years, and a few have cited it (PRP) as their favorite place to play. The DJ’s are avid vinyl lovers, so new records are got & played every week. There ARE some staples, however, which include recordings by bands like, PIL, The Wailers, The Clash, Culture, The Specials, Black Uhuru, The Slits, The Skatalites, The Ramones, The Pop Group, and many, many others.

    MAGIC-2
House Shoes, a resident DJ at the hip-hop staple venue St. Andrews Hall in Detroit, MI from 1994-2004 has had personal influence over a full generation of well respected emcees, producers, and then-future DJ’s. ‘Shoes was a 4x time winner of the hard earned title “Best Hip Hop DJ” in Detroit and used his platform to expose some of the best and brightest talent his city has had to offer to not only Detroit but the world as well.

As a DJ, ‘Shoes has toured extensively throughout the U.S., Europe, and Australia with artists Guilty Simpson, Illa J, Exile, Aloe Blacc, Percee P, Phat Kat, Slum Village and Elzhi, to name a few, as well as on his own, gaining the respect of acts far outside the scope of Detroit hip-hop. House Shoes also performed as opening DJ on Mayer Hawthorne & The County’s Spring 2010 16-city headlining U.S. tour.

As a producer, ‘Shoes has worked with the late and revered J Dilla and Big Proof, Black Milk, Danny Brown, Guilty Simpson, Roc Marciano, Chino XL, Invincible, Finale, MED, Nottz, Alchemist, Big Tone, Oh No, Elzhi, Black Spade, and many more. ‘Shoes has also helped to advise and mentor several more emcees, groups, DJ’s and producers during his time in both Detroit and California.

As far as his musical output is concerned, he self-produced 10” limited vinyl issues have also been released on Do-Over Records, backed by Flying Lotus, and All-City Records out of Dublin, Ireland. Those 10” limited vinyl releases are already considered rare & highly sought after pieces. He’s produced tracks on Danny Brown’s “XXX” (Fool’s Gold) and Quelle Chris’ “Shotgun and Sleek Rifle” (Mello Music Group) albums. His debut album “Let It Go” was released in 2012 by Tres Records.

He now spends the majority of his free time building new releases and strategy for Street Corner Music, his self-ran label, distributed through Fat Beats since 2013.
