This dublab program features composer Carl Stone in a two-hour tribute to his friend and dining companion Jonathan Gold. Gold, a Pulitzer Prize-winning food critic, illustrated Los Angeles’ diverse culinary landscape through his writing. He passed away in July of this year leaving seat at the table that can never be filled.
Stone notoriously names all of his tracks after restaurants he likes, and as a Los Angeles native who now lives in Tokyo, more than 60% of his titles are restaurants that Gold had reviewed. During this broadcast, we heard some of those pieces and remembered some of those words.
